Background
•Attention is
being directed to helping HIV-infected individuals reduce their risk of transmitting
the virus to others: “Prevention with Positives” (PwP).
•Recent US
guidelines for PwP in medical care settings (CDC & HRSA, 2003).
–HIV patients should be
screened for HIV-risk behaviors at least annually.
–Patients
should receive behavioral interventions at least twice
annually.
