UCSF Doris Duke Charitable Foundation International Research Fellowship supports 4 students for one year of international research.
The fellowship provides $29,000 for a 12 months stipend, with an extra $5,000 for research costs, $5,000 for travel costs, and covers health insurance. The student must spend at least 8 months abroad during the year off. The application is due in early January for a start time of July.
For the application, students must work with a mentor to submit a project proposal that is detailed and clear, reviewed by a committee taking into account the mentor’s experience, and the merit of the research proposal itself (feasibility, student role and involvement, relevance of the project, etc.).
Students make contact with mentors based on areas of shared interest and synergistic research. More information can be found on the Doris Duke website.
